How to learn more about our project

January 20, 2013 by susanyvivi

IMG_3012We’ve been hearing lately that there are quite a few of you out there who are curious about the birth of The Village Farm and want to know more. We’re thrilled! If you’ve just heard of us, the first thing to do is read through the blog (especially Our Vision so you know where we’re coming from) and subscribe so you get all the latest updates. If you’ve been there, done that, and have specific questions, feel free to comment on this post or contact us at

If you’d like to meet us and have a conversation in person, we’ll have a table at Sooke Seedy Saturday on February 23 from 10-3, and we’ll be hosting a Village Farm Open House in early March (more on both of those events in upcoming posts).

We’ll also be having an Orientation Meeting on January 27th for a number of people who are interested in becoming involved in, or supporting The Village Farm but have not yet attended a meeting. It will be an introduction to what we’re doing and an opportunity to bring them up to speed on all the details of our project.

If like them, you think you might be interested in becoming a Participating Supporter (members who’d like to help create The Village Farm and participate in the life and work of the farm when we are up and running) or a Core Member (members who are committed to creating, maintaining and living on The Village Farm) coming to the Orientation Meeting would be a good first step. You can reach us at the email address above.

IMG_1078Part of our vision is to give opportunities to new farmers that they wouldn’t otherwise have, so if you’re a farmer, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’d like to lend financial support as we work to finalize the purchase of the farm and convert it to a Land Trust, we would be ecstatic to hear from you.

We read and respond to all enquiries in our comments and like we said, we’re happy to start a conversation at Please share this post with anyone you think this information might be of interest to.

Thanks again for being a part of this journey with us. We feel incredibly grateful for all your enthusiasm and excitement. Onwards and upwards.

Where and when is the orientation meeting ?
Responding to the address did not work.

What great news – Linda and I would like to help. What is your short and long-term budget?
