As we mentioned in a previous post, one of the small but significant items on our ‘to do’ list has been choosing our permanent name. While we will always have a soft spot for the simplicity and elegance of ‘The Village Farm’, it doesn’t have the one key element we’re looking for: clarity that we intend to be integral part of, and ultimately belong to the community of Sooke. So, from now on, we’ll all be getting used to calling ourselves the Sooke Ecovillage Farm. Don’t worry, the blog URL won’t change and all links will continue to work.
The first item to display our new permanent name is an idea we’ve been planning for some time and are excited to reveal. Drum roll, please.
As you know, we want very much for the farm to involve and benefit the community of Sooke. Since we’re still very much in the ‘forming, storming and norming’ phase of development, we decided it was time to ask for the community’s advice. You’ll start seeing these ‘Brainstorm Boxes’ in Sooke businesses this week and we hope that you’ll use them. Tell us what you want out of the farm – please give us your feedback, ideas and suggestions. Alternatively, you can give us anonymous feedback and ideas in our online suggestion box.
We’ll be posting the top suggestions here on the blog and look forward to all the discussions they will inspire.
