markus_wharfside_restaurant-28We are thrilled and honoured to announce that the spectacular Markus’ Wharfside Restaurant will be holding two nights of fundraising dinners on April 12th and 13th. 100% of the set menu proceeds will go to The Sooke Region Farmland Trust Society to help buy and protect the farm.

Markus’ is an award-winning foodie destination in Sooke that is deserving of all its raves. Part of their success has been their belief in serving fresh, locally grown food and they share our dream of making Sooke a local food hub.

From their Facebook page:

“We want Sooke to have a place where we can buy organic vegetables, locally made cheeses and meat/poultry that are organic and ethically raised. Don’t you want your food to be less of a world traveller? We do, so for those reasons we are taking action to help the Village Farm Co-op acquire land. Come help us support our food future!

We will be offering a 4 course menu of locally sourced food on:

Friday, April 12th and Saturday, April 13th, 2013.

The menu is priced at $60 per person.

100% of the proceeds from the set menu will go directly to: The Sooke Region Farmland Trust Society.

We are thankful for local chef Oliver Kienast who will be cooking with Markus and all our staff who have generously volunteered their time and skill to help on both evenings. Additionally, we are thankful for all the local farmers and food producers in the area who will be donating their wares for this event.
